Advanced Training
Part-time afterschool workshops for the serious young actors, aged 12 to 16
Driven by our background as agents and an awarding body, this course aligns student training with professional industry standards. Classes take place at Cromer Studios, our purpose-built facility used daily for real castings and rehearsals.
In this active professional environment, students move beyond stage projection to learn screen mechanics, from hitting marks to subtle nuance, during intensive two-hour weekly sessions.
Audition: Saturday 25th April 2026 | 10.30am - 12.30pm | £30
Term Starts: Friday 8th May 2026 | 6pm - 8pm | £425 (10 weeks)

WINNER OF 'BEST AGENCY FOR NEW TALENT' 2024/25 NEW VOICE AWARDS.
We are a sub-division of acting agency Middleweek Newton Talent Management
We’ve guided actors from beginners to BAFTA nominees and Olivier winners. Over 90% of modern opportunities are on screen. For the students interested in performance, screen technique is an essential part of any young actor's toolkit.

Our Vision
We created this course for young people passionate about film who want to dive deeper than a standard drama class.
Our vision is to become a trusted talent hub, a place where the industry knows they can find skilled, camera-ready actors. We aim to set the standard high enough to confidently invite Casting Directors and Producers to scout the room.
While we can’t offer guarantees, we treat every student like a young professional. We believe that channelling their enthusiasm into technical skill is where the true fun and the real progress begins.
What We Teach
To meet these industry standards, our training helps students translate their performance skills for the camera. We don't discard theatrical training; instead, we teach students how to adapt it, complementing their stage craft with the specific technical discipline required for the screen.
Stage and screen are opposing disciplines. Where stage craft relies on projecting energy outward to bridge the physical distance to an audience, screen acting demands a total internalisation of the work, requiring the actor to exist within the moment rather than present it. We teach students that to be effective on camera, they must perform "as if no one is watching." By creating this sense of absolute privacy, the performance becomes voyeuristic, allowing the audience to lean in and believe the reality of the scene.

It is a common myth that screen acting requires "small" or "subtle" acting. On the contrary, screen performances can be explosive - screaming, crying, ranting - provided they remain true to the moment. The skill lies not in shrinking the emotion, but in controlling the physical parameters. Our students learn that the lens is their stage. They are taught to instinctively gauge the frame size, adjusting their physical delivery to suit the technical requirements of the shot without ever diluting the emotional intensity.
For the first time, we are now opening our doors to a younger cohort, welcoming ambitious performers between the ages of 12 and 16.
Novice actors focus on speaking; professionals focus on listening. We reverse the standard dynamic by teaching students to hear dialogue as if for the first time, every time. (Parents are often pleased to note that this particular skill tends to improve at home, too!). We move students away from pre-determined acting choices, teaching them that a truthful performance is born entirely from how they react to the person opposite them. The only difference between life and acting is that they happen to know the words.
